  Tetrakis Amminium

The Tetrakis Amminium family contains narrow band absorbers effectively blocking light at 1065nm and also broad band absorbers which can block light over a wide range of wavelengths up to 1600nm.

Narrow Band absorber physical properties
High absorptivity in the area of 1065nm
Good to excellent solubility in oxygenated or chlorinated organic solvents
Relatively poor thermal stability; unsuitable for most injection molding applications
Visible yellow-brown color
Melting points typically higher than 200 degrees C
Strongly acidic
Some absorption in the visible spectrum

Broad Band absorber physical properties
Relatively low absorptivity but absorb light over a wider spectrum
Good to excellent solubility in oxygenated or chlorinated organic solvents
Moderate thermal stability making them suitable for injection molding applications
Lower melting points than the Narrow Band dyes
Visible green color
Moderately acidic
Strong absorption in the 400 to 450nm region
